Thanks everyone who joined us at Worthington Christian Village on Saturday to visit with the elderly residents there. They really enjoyed chatting with the six of us over cheesecake and spending time outside tossing water balloons. The coordinator sent an appreciative email (below), and we really want to return later this summer.
– BUT –
First, take a look at what we’re planning for June! We’re returning to a favorite lunch location after Mass this weekend, we have one open seat at the pro life dinner, and we’ve had a huge interest in attending The Princess Bride outdoors (free!) as part of Bexley’s Main Event! We’ve also pinned down more details on our upcoming camping trip.
We also want to plan our second annual twilight canoe / kayak trip at Trapper John’s in Grove City. Please fill out our doodle poll so we know which date works best. https://doodle.com/poll/84cefd5hvba5atrh

This is an event we look forward to every year! This year, internationally acclaimed pro-life speaker and strategist Obianuju (Uju) Ekoacha will give the keynote at the Banquet. As founder and president of Culture of Life Africa, Uju has led the way for the pro-life movement in Africa by facilitating, organizing and proposing many pro-life conferences and rallies across Africa. Mary Dannemiller has offered to grill for us, and $15 will cover our camping reservation plus food for the weekend. Sign up here, and let us know if you have a tent you can share. There is plenty of room to set up, and we’ll help coordinate if you don’t have one to bring. If you’d like to come out for the day but don’t want to camp out, we’d love to have you. We’re putting together a carpool for over-nighters and day-trippers as well. Please note it on our google doc or email us if you’d like to ride along with us or can take other to the park (it’s about an hour away). We’ll be returning Sunday in time for evening Mass at the cathedral/Holy Name/St. Brendan.

The diocese Marriage and Family Life Office and Office of Divine Worship are looking for volunteers at their upcoming Jubilee of Anniversaries! We’ve been asked to assist by handing out programs and helping elderly couples out of cars and into seats (Mass starts at 2:30pm). Stay after Mass too if you can pour drinks, mix lemonade, refill pitchers and cookie trays and clean up the reception space. What a special way to celebrate these couples whose marriages have endured 25+ years! Let us know if you can volunteer by emailing Catherine Suprenant at catherinesuprenant@gmail.com or by replying to this email.
