Adirondack Camping Trip, July 2016

Dear Frassati members and friends,

We have been kindly invited by the Frassati Fellowship of Northeast Ohio to join them, as well as other Frassati and Catholic young adult groups, this July for an exciting camping trip to the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York.

On this trip, there will be opportunities for several different types of adventurous activities and chances to form deeper friendships with those Frassati members you already know as well as chances to meet new like-minded people from other Catholic groups.

Please RSVP as soon as possible, according to the details below. We sincerely hope to enjoy your company as we go on this adventure together!

What you need to know:

-Cost of the trip: $15 per person. (Additional expenses include contributing to gas money, money for food on travel days, and rental fees for watercraft, if you wish.)

-Payment due: July 11, 2016, when we depart from the campgrounds (pay to Columbus Frassati Society)

-FYI: You will need to provide your own camping gear and cookware (people of the same gender as one another may share a tent, if needed)

The Whens, Wheres, and Whats:

When: July 8-11, 2016 We intend to use Friday the 8th and Monday the 11th as travel days, arriving in the afternoon on Friday and most of the adventures and expeditions will take place over the weekend.

Where: Staying at Fish Creek Pond Campground, 4523 New York 30, Saranac Lake, NY 12983 http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/24466.htmlor http://www.fishcreekpond.com (It is tent-camping, so tents, sleeping bags, camp cookware, etc. are required.)

DAILY ITINERARY:

We will start the day with Mass and breakfast at the camp, then off to the different activities for the day:

– Hiking (many mountain ranges and famous peaks within the easy driving distance)

– Canoeing / Kayaking (Rentals are available …or BYOB, Bring Your Own Boat…)

– Rock Climbing (some fabulous areas within driving distance, participants will need to bring their own gear)

Dinner at the camp

Group rosary, social gathering, conversation, games (feel free to bring your favorite deck of cards or camp-appropriate game to share), read, or just some time to be on your own.
