Seat of Wisdom
7pm Friday, November 17th
Private residence: RSVP for address.
Please join us for the next meeting of Seat of Wisdom. We have several seats remaining on a first come, first served basis — please contact Matt at the email below to claim one. Seat is a concept first developed by Catholic young adults in Seattle that aims to gather a small group for a structured discussion on a topic from the world of Catholic arts and letters. November’s topic is “
Ye pilgrim nation: Thanksgiving, American history, and the heresy of Americanism.”
Discussions are around two hours long. Matt has already gathered questions, so all you need to bring is yourself. We will end the night with compline. Please RSVP to columbusfrassatisociety@gmail.com, and we will provide you with the address for the discussion.
Maria Stein pilgrimage: the Land of the Cross-Tipped Churches (and many relics)
8:45 a.m. Saturday, November 18th
Carpool location TBD
The small town of Maria Stein, OH is saturated in Catholic richness, and Frassati will take a field trip to survey it. The town and surrounding area are called the “Land of the Cross-Tipped Churches” and we will visit several of them. The highlight is likely the Shrine of the Holy Relics, which is the second-largest collection of relics in the U.S. Our field trip will start at a location in Columbus for those who wish to carpool. We will arrive in Maria Stein in time for 10 a.m. mass to be followed by a tour. For those who are interested, we’ll also stop for lunch and a short hike on the way back to Columbus. Please RSVP to columbusfrassatisociety@gmail.com.
